We’re often asked to buy local and support neighbourhood firms, which is a good thing to do.

It is always easier to make confident purchases when the locally produced items are from reputable stockists and the goods are of an exceptional quality, excellently priced, functional and aesthetically pleasing. Take our range of locally sourced gravels as a perfect example.

At our garden centre Tadley, you’ll find a selection of the best local gravels for your domestic or commercial landscaping. From the black, white, grey and brown Moonstone Gravel to elegant Toffee Gravel, the charming Cotswold Chippings to the multi-tasking South Cerney Gravel; whatever your tastes, budget and landscaping skill level, there’s a local gravel solution for you.

Cost effective, creative, convenient

With 20mm gravel bulk bags of a Thames Valley, South Cerney or Cotswolds quarried product, your landscaping material will be an outstanding and enduring worker with maximum kerb and neighbour appeal.

You don’t need to win the lottery to purchase 20mm gravel bulk bags or loose supplies because gravel is an economic choice which delivers on every level.

  • At Rivar Sand and Gravel we are proud to stock Cotswold Chippings and 20mm gravel bulk bags are available in 450kg and 900kg, at £57 and £101 respectively.
  • A 25kg bag of the 18mm Cotswold Buff costs just £6.00 and offers strength for driveways and paths alongside a serene appearance. It works well as a backdrop for planting.
  • Moonstone Gravel 20mm gravel bulk bags are £50 for 450kg and £84.50 for 900kg.

So, to put in another way, if 5 years is approximately 1825 days the Cotswold Chippings 900kg supply at £101 equates to an amazing 5.5 pence per day! (2.7p over 10 years.) Value for money? We think so!

You have the freedom to take your purchase away with you or we are happy to deliver at your convenience. Allow us to handle the logistics and make your experience a joy from start to finish.

Install, maintain and admire

Gravel doesn’t take much time or effort to install and maintain. If you take advantage of a membrane which blocks weeds so they won’t appear amongst the gravel, the maintenance is minimised.

There are gravel frameworks which house the gravel in pods so there is optimum tidiness, less travelling, plus the base layer acts as a weed membrane. These frameworks bear vehicle weight and are extremely cost effective.

Core Path and Core Drive are laid quickly and simply and they serve you for years.

  • 1.38 metres squared packs of 100% recycled materials in 6 sheets Core Path cost £21.96.
  • Core Drive is available in 1200m x 800mm sheets for £17.40 each.

Please ask our garden centre Tadley team for more details or call in to our Windlesham or Newbury outlets if this is more convenient. Our teams have the expertise, experience and dedication to ensure that the products you invest in are the right ones for you.

We want to help you achieve your landscaping visions as much today as we did 20 years ago when we began.
