As we look back at the summer we realize how busy we have been, kicking it all off was our stall at Greenfest 2025!
We have supported Eco Friends at the 2022 Greenfest and it was a very successful event so when we heard that a group of enthusiastic volunteers wanted to hold a similar event in Newbury we were keen to attend and have out own stall this time.
As the event was to promote greener living we decided to highlight our plastic free offerings, we have increased the number of bays at our depots to encourage people to come and collect a wide range of aggregates themselves bringing their own containers to reduce the amount of plastic used.
The range in our loose bays includes building materials, a wide range of decorative gravels and horticultural products like bark, soil and compost all of which can be collected from us in your own bags/trugs etc and weighed meaning that you only pay for what you need cutting down on waste, money and plastics!
Alongside this information we has a paper pot making station with our compost to fill them and wildflower seeds donated by Friends of the Earth to sow, these were sealed with paper tape for safe transit home, these could them be split open and scattered or watered and planted like a seed bomb.
As well as the seed planting we had a rock painting station, we were very busy here and we very lucky to have seen some amazing artistic creations that people could take home, not everyone wanted to take their rocks home so we had plenty to dot around the depot for our customers to enjoy.
It was a wonderful day with many stalls and talks helping us to find a greener way to live and we are hoping that this will become a regular event in the future.
