Gravel is not an extremely expensive material but it does endure and has kerb appeal, mixing functionality and aesthetic qualities far beyond the price tag.

You don’t need a lot of skill with gravel. Maintenance takes a few minutes, an occasional tidy up, refilling any ruts or dips and a hose clean to refresh the gravel will suffice. Gravel for paths and driveways won’t cause a headache.

Gravel lends itself to urban gardening. Even a tiny courtyard space will enjoy visual improvement with gravel. A couple of pots on a windowsill or balcony space mulched with gravel makes the most of limited space.

We keep many of our products in stock because we know that you want to get on with your project. Remember, if you need other landscaping materials, ancillary products or aggregates delivered, we supply these too.

One tonne of gravel covers approximately twelve metres squared when it’s laid at a depth of 1.5 to 2 inches. If you want deeper gravel for paths at 5-10mm or a driveway of 50mm depth, we’ll calculate the quantity so you don’t have to. 

We recommend Cotswold Chippings because they work within almost every design scheme and alongside other landscaping materials. Their aesthetic appeal never jars with another material and as a background to planting and as a mulch in pots, Cotswold Chippings are a classic choice.

20mm chippings.

Angular and buff-yellow to golden brown tones.

Cotswold Chippings are slightly crumbly so can be less suitable for driveways.

Consider ancillary products too, including weed matting and a gravel framework suitable for paths and driveways. Laying Core Drive in connectable 1200 X 800mm sheets results in minimal gravel maintenance and tidying. The weed membrane attached to the bottom of each sheet reduces weeds. The Cotswold Chippings, or alternative gravel, sits in spaces within the sturdy honeycomb frame. Core Drive costs just £17.40 per sheet. Perfect.
