Boules in the Square 2022
Rivar Sand and Gravel were proud to support the Newbury Rotary Club with their annual Boules in the Square event. We support this event by supplying the sand for the 5 “Pistes” that the game is played on. Each player has boules to throw and whoever lands closest to the “Pig” or “Jack” wins! (It’s a bit more complicated than that but that’s the general idea!).
16 Teams entered the competition and played on 4 pistes and the fifth piste was open to members of the public to have a try.
This annual event has been on hiatus during the pandemic but they were back with gusto for 2022, and as ever we were happy to supply the sand for the temporary Petanque courts which were built in the Newbury Market Place, the event was very well attended by both young and old.
This annual charity event raised just over £1,000 which will be put to very good use in the various projects the Rotary Club support.
