Litter Pick flyer

Come and join us for the Annual Community Clean and get our local area looking beautiful and clear of rubbish. Led by Newbury Town Council, there will be 4 meeting points on the day -

  • Falkland Memorial, Wash Common
  • Car Park at the corner of Waller Drive and Stoney Lane
  • Northcroft Park
  • Digby Road Park
  • Retail Park – outside McDonalds

McDonalds are sponsoring the event and will be supplying the litter picking tools.

The Community Clean will begin to tackle rubbish starting at the locations listed above at 1pm on Saturday 25 March 2017. It is hoped that as many volunteers as possible will come and join the Councillors and that the rest of the community gets the message that dropping litter is 'simply not on'.

Cllr Margo Payne remarked,

"This clean up will show others that we care about the future of our local environment and that we are not prepared to live, work and play in an area that is blighted by rubbish. It’s great to work together like this and create a sense of community. For some of our younger volunteers it is their first taste of active citizenship and the Council will award them with Certificates of Attendance which they can add to their CV’s or portfolios. Volunteers can just turn up on the day, so please join us.”
